Three schools remain closed in Kyiv due to COVID-19

Three schools and five kindergartens have been temporarily closed in Kyiv city due to a rise in coronavirus cases, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

“In total, 901 pupils in Kyiv are sick with coronavirus. Almost 780 teachers are also ill,” he said at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to Klitschko, classes in 227 schools have been transferred to distance learning.

In addition, 151 groups in 122 kindergartens have been closed due to COVID-19 cases. Five kindergartens have been temporarily fully closed.

As reported by Ukrinform, on December 21, a total of 970,993 COVID-19 cases were laboratory confirmed in Ukraine, including 6,545 new cases reported in the past 24 hours.
