Ukraine will submit the second part of the request for COVID-19 vaccine to the COVAX Facility on December 14, 2020.

"The second part of the request to COVAX will be submitted on December 14 this year," Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said at the Cabinet’s meeting, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Shmyhal reminded that the Cabinet of Ministers holds a dialogue with European and international partners to receive the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible. Last week, the Ministry of Health and the Center for Public Health sent the first part of the request for 8 million doses of the vaccine under the COVAX Facility. Criteria have been developed to determine the priority groups of people who will be administered the coronavirus vaccine on a first-priority basis, and the issues of logistics and storage of the vaccine have been worked out.

As reported, Health Minister Maksym Stepanov signed a number of technical documents for receiving 8 million doses of the vaccine within the framework of the global COVAX Facility.
