Four schools, seven kindergartens closed in Kyiv due to COVID-19

Four schools have been temporarily closed in Kyiv city due to a rise in coronavirus cases, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

“As of today, four schools remain closed for quarantine in our city. Some 939 classes in 265 schools have been transferred to distance learning. In total, 1,302 pupils are sick with coronavirus in Kyiv. Almost 1,000 teachers are also sick,” Klitschko said at a briefing on December 9, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The mayor said that due to confirmed coronavirus cases, seven kindergartens have been also closed for quarantine.

As reported by Ukrinform, a total of 845,343 COVID-19 cases were laboratory confirmed in Ukraine on December 9, including 12,585 new cases reported in the past 24 hours.
