Five schools in Kyiv remain closed due to COVID-19 cases

Five schools in Kyiv city have been closed due to a rise in coronavirus cases, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

“Five schools have been shut down. Some 1,041 classes in 268 schools have been transferred to distance learning,” he said at a press briefing on November 25, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In total, 1,277 pupils and more than 850 teachers in Kyiv are sick with coronavirus.

The mayor also said that due to confirmed coronavirus cases, 192 groups in 147 kindergartens have been temporarily closed.

“Seven kindergartens have been fully closed for quarantine,” he added.

As of November 25, 661,858 COVID-19 cases were laboratory confirmed in Ukraine, including 13,882 cases recorded during the previous day.
