“Kyiv will use funds allocated to provide students of general education institutions with personal protective equipment. First of all, we should organize the learning process so that it is safe for children, teachers and staff,” Mondryivsky said on Friday, the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration reported.
According to him, the funds will be redistributed among the district state administrations of the city of Kyiv, where they will be used to purchase disinfectants and personal protective equipment.
He added that Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko had repeatedly stressed the need to provide schools with all the necessary safety products. Therefore, the city allocated more than UAH 30 million for these purposes from a special fund.
As reported, as of November 12, seven schools and nine kindergartens in Kyiv city were shut down due to the coronavirus.
As of November 13, Ukraine reported 512,652 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 11,787 new cases recorded over the past 24 hours.
