Three schools, 13 kindergartens in Kyiv closed due to rise in COVID-19 cases

Three schools and 13 kindergartens in Kyiv city have been shut down due to a rise in COVID-19 cases among teachers, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

“Three schools in Kyiv have been closed for quarantine due to confirmed coronavirus cases among teachers. In total, 232 classes in 82 schools in the city have been transferred to distance learning. A total of 654 pupils and 602 teachers in Kyiv have are sick with coronavirus," Klitschko said at a briefing on November 6, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He added that 13 kindergartens and 143 groups in 125 kindergartens had been closed for quarantine.

As of November 6, 440,188 COVID-19 cases were laboratory confirmed in Ukraine, including 9,721 cases recorded during the previous day.
