Health Ministry names regions with highest number of new COVID-19 cases

The highest number of new coronavirus cases in Ukraine in the past 24 hours has been confirmed in the city of Kyiv, Kharkiv and Khmelnytskyi regions.

Health Minister Maksym Stepanov stated this at a briefing on October 30, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

“The highest number of new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours has been recorded in the city of Kyiv – 741, Kharkiv region – 659 cases, Khmelnytskyi region – 521 cases, Odesa region – 493 cases, and Donetsk region – 466 cases,” he said.

According to Stepanov, 315 children and 396 health workers have fallen ill with coronavirus over the course of the past day. Some 1,140 people have been hospitalized.

The minister said that Ukraine conducted 78,489 tests to detect COVID-19 on October 29, including 47,842 PCR and 30,647 ELISA tests.

As reported, Ukraine confirmed a total of 378,729 cases of COVID-19 on October 30, including 8,312 cases recorded during the previous day.
