Ukraine will need about a year to complete all stages of clinical trials to evaluate a Ukrainian vaccine against COVID-19.

President of DiaPrep System Inc., Professor, Doctor of Medicine Science, international expert in the field of healthcare and epidemiology Mykhailo Favorov stated this during a briefing dedicated to the development of a Ukrainian vaccine against COVID-19 on October 22, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"If everything goes perfectly well, the electricity is never turned off and nothing happens, we can count on nine months. In fact, it will take one year, because these processes can't be accelerated. We can't use untested vaccine. We need to carry out all three phases," said Favorov.

As reported, Ukrainian scientists presented the results of preclinical trials of a pilot development for a Ukrainian vaccine against COVID-19 to President Volodymyr Zelensky on October 20.
