Health Ministry intends to increase daily number of COVID-19 tests

The Health Ministry is planning to increase the average number of PCR tests to detect COVID-19 up to 75,000 per day.
Health Minister Maksym Stepanov stated this in his speech in the Verkhovna Rada on October 20, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"Today we conduct at least 30,000 tests per day. We know that there will be 50,000, and then 75,000 tests per day by mid-November," the minister said.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Ukrainian government will allocate UAH 1.5 billion for the purchase of COVID-19 rapid tests, which will be available to family doctors and mobile teams.
Some 309,107 COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Ukraine as of October 20, including 5,469 new cases recorded during the previous day.
