Eighty-five percent of Ukrainians consider themselves patriots, fifty-nine percent are ready to defend the territorial integrity of Ukraine with weapons in their hands.

This is evidenced by the results of the poll conducted by the Rating sociological group on the eve of Ukraine’s Defender Day.

"According to the poll results, 85% of respondents consider themselves patriots of their country, 12% have the opposite opinion. The share of patriotic citizens is about the same in all regions of the country, and it’s relatively bigger among senior respondents," the statement reads.

In addition, 59% of respondents expressed readiness to defend the territorial integrity of Ukraine with weapons in their hands in case of a threat (there were 56% of such respondents in 2019, 54% - 2017%, 33% - 2012). This answer was relatively more popular among men, middle-aged respondents, and people with higher incomes.

The poll was conducted by CATI method among 2,000 respondents aged 18 and over throughout Ukraine except for the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Donbas on October 10-12.
