Over 20 thousand patients with COVID-19 staying in Ukrainian hospitals

As of the morning of October 8, more than 20,000 patients with COVID-19 stay in Ukrainian hospitals.

 “As of this morning, more than 20,000 patients stay in hospitals. This number increases every day... Nine hundred people with a confirmed diagnosis were hospitalized over the past day. Ninety-three deaths and 2,263 recoveries were recorded in past 24 hours,” Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Over the past day, 34,295 PCR tests and 23,036 EIA tests were performed.

As reported, Ukraine registered 5,397 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 244,734.
