Occupancy rate of COVID-19 hospitals in Ukraine is 57% – Health Ministry

The occupancy rate of hospitals reserved for COVID-19 patients stood at 57% as of October 6, according to data provided by the Health Ministry of Ukraine.

In Kyiv and 14 regions, the occupancy rate of first-wave hospitals exceeded 50%. In general, the occupancy of hospitals in Ukraine over the past five days was 57.7% (with confirmed and suspicious cases of COVID-19).

In Kyiv, as of October 6, the occupancy rate of hospitals of the first wave of COVID-19 stood at 72.4%.

The highest occupancy rate of health facilities was recorded in Donetsk region (94.9%), Luhansk region (90.5%), and Odesa region (77.6%).

As of October 6, only Kirovohrad region was ready to ease quarantine measures. The incidence rate in the region for 14 days was 20.4 per 100,000 population, with a base rate of 40 per 100,000 population.

In Kyiv, the incidence rate of COVID-19 over 14 days was 170.8 per 100,000 population.

The highest incidence rate of COVID-19 was registered in Ternopil (277.8), Chernivtsi (237.8), and Sumy (234.4) regions.

There is no data on the incidence rate of COVID-19 for the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.

As of October 6, Ukraine reported 234,584 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 4,348 new cases recorded over the past 24 hours.
