The Education and Science Ministry of Ukraine is planning to reform the system of preschool education, bringing general approaches to the education and training of preschool children in line with the European ones, according to acting Education Minister Serhiy Shkarlet.

“Today preschool education is associated with new ideas, bold experiments, joyful discoveries, interesting search and faith in the future. Ukraine numbers almost 15,000 preschool institutions, where 137,000 educators teach and educate 1.253 million children,” Shkarlet said in a video address, the ministry’s press service reported.

According to him, the concept of the New Ukrainian School has changed the approaches to the educational process in Ukraine. The Ministry has also set a goal to comprehensively reform the system of preschool education, unifying the general approaches to the education and training of preschool children to the European ones, taking into account the best traditions of Ukrainian pedagogy.

Shkarlet stressed that today there is no more important task in the world than saving the lives and health of all participants in the educational process.
