Ukraine records 301 new COVID-19 cases among children in past 24 hours

Some 301 children in Ukraine have tested positive for COVID-19 over the course of the past day.

Health Minister Maksym Stepanov stated this at a briefing on September 17, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"Some 3,584 people have fallen ill over the past day. It is a new anti-record. Among [new sick persons] are 301 children and 147 health workers. Some 534 people have been taken to hospitals,” he said.

Overall, 10,327 children and 13,100 health workers have contracted COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.

Ukraine has also recorded 60 deaths related the disease in the past 24 hours.

On September 17, Ukraine reported 162,660 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 3,584 new cases recorded over the past 24 hours.
