Kyiv city reports 280 new COVID-19 cases

Kyiv city has confirmed 280 new coronavirus cases in the past day, bringing the total number to 14,158, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

“The number of coronavirus patients in Kyiv is not decreasing. Over the past day, the virus was detected in 280 people, including 26 children. Four patients have died. In total, the coronavirus took the lives of 222 Kyiv residents,” he wrote.

According to the mayor, among people who have contracted COVID-19 in Kyiv in the past day are 142 women aged 18-87 years; 17 girls aged 8 months and 17 years; 112 men aged 18-81 years; and 9 boys aged 2 and 12 years old. In addition, 14 healthcare workers have tested positive for COVID-19.

At the same time, 103 people have recovered over the course of the past day. In total, 4,553 Kyiv residents have overcome the disease.

As of September 3, Ukraine reported 128,228 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 2,430 new cases recorded over the past day.
