Number of COVID-19 hospitalizations in Ukraine has almost doubled over past month

As of today, 6,505 patients with coronavirus have been hospitalized in Ukraine.

"Coronavirus continues to spread throughout the country. The number of hospitalizations is growing. As of this morning, 6,505 patients [with coronavirus] have been hospitalized. As of mid-July, we had 3,500 hospitalizations," Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The minister noted that 65 children and 137 health workers had contracted coronavirus over the past day and 49 deaths had been recorded.

Stepanov informed that 41,294 coronavirus tests had been performed in Ukraine over the past 24 hours, including 20,730 PCR tests and 20,564 EIA tests.

As of August 27, Ukraine has reported 112,059 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 1,974 new cases recorded over the past 24 hours.
