Ukraine receives aid from 30 countries, 9 international organizations amid pandemic
"During the coronavirus pandemic, Ukraine has received assistance from nine international organizations and 30 countries ... Ukraine has also received unprecedented assistance since 2014, especially in overcoming the consequences of the occupation of Crimea and the war in Donbas. We have almost two million displaced persons and 3.4 million Ukrainians who are on the brink of survival due to Russian aggression," First Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Dzheppar posted on Facebook.
In particular, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports millions of dollars in emergency aid, thousands of units of personal protective equipment (masks, disinfectants, plastic shields, respirators, medical goggles, non-contact thermometers, medical protective suits, disposable medical gloves), thousands of tests for coronavirus, and dozens of ventilators.
As known, World Humanitarian Day (WHD) is held annually on August 19 to pay tribute to aid workers who risk their lives in humanitarian service, and to mobilize people to advocate for a more humane world.
As of August 19, Ukraine reported 96,403 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 1,967 new cases recorded over the past 24 hours.
