President instructs to develop measures to support culture and tourism

The document is aimed at promoting the development of Ukraine’s cultural potential, preserving, promoting and using the national cultural heritage, creating conditions for the tourist attractiveness of cultural heritage sites and supporting the creative economy.

According to the document, the Cabinet of Ministers should ensure the development and implementation of measures within the framework of the Great Construction program in three key areas: protection, revival and effective use of cultural heritage sites; development of modern tourism infrastructure in Ukraine; and promotion of the development of the creative economy.

In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers should work out the issue of attracting additional sources of funding to the sector of culture; increasing the costs of its financing it in accordance with justified needs (starting from 2021); the possibility of financing projects for the development of cultural infrastructure by the State Fund for Regional Development; determining the features of public-private partnership in culture, tourism, management of cultural heritage sites and so on.

As reported, the "Great Construction" program on large-scale development of Ukraine's infrastructure was launched on March 1 and covers almost 380 facilities.
