Ukraine plans to resume vaccine production
“We need [to resume domestic] vaccine production... We now have a clear understanding, which will soon be formed as a strategy to start producing vaccines in the country, at our facilities. In addition, this will create conditions for our scientists so that they really start creating vaccines,” Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
Last week, the minister met with representatives of pharmaceutical companies Farmak, Lekkhim, Biolik, as well as institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, particularly the Institute of Microbiology and Virology of NASU, to discuss the resumption of vaccine production in Ukraine.
Four Ukrainian pharmaceutical companies are currently conducting clinical trials of medicines that may be used in the symptomatic treatment of COVID-19.
