In September, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine will launch a series of national round tables dedicated to the culture of dialogue, art, language, religion, and ecology.

Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko said this in an interview with Ukrinform.

“We agreed that we will start holding round tables from September this year. They will be dedicated to different topics and will be held in different cities of Ukraine. Scientists will take part in the round tables; they will be selected by Oles Doniy and Ihor Kozlovsky, a religious scholar and a former hostage of the invaders. The round tables will be public, open, and then end with closed meetings with the involvement of politicians and the local elite of the cities where we will conduct these discussions," the minister said.

He stressed that when he served as chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, he received many proposals regarding amendments to various laws that are crucial for the country. In particular, this concerned "language" and "religious" laws. "It is clear that it will not be easy to discuss these topics as part of political battles, because there are at least two different opposing points of view that do not intersect," Tkachenko added.

According to the public and cultural activist, Oles Doniy, who will moderate these discussions, the first round table on the culture of dialogue will take place in Kyiv. A round table on history will be held in Odesa, on language – in Kharkiv, and on happiness – in Chernivtsi. In Kryvyi Rih, the organizers plan to hold a round table meeting on ecology. The final round table on art will be held in Poltava in December.
