Health Ministry to purchase 1.2M new coronavirus test kits under World Bank program

The Ministry of Health of Ukraine jointly with the World Bank will purchase more than 1 million new coronavirus test kits.

"A project implemented by the Ministry of Health jointly with the World Bank provides for the allocation of funds exclusively for the fight against the epidemic. We will purchase about 1.2 million new test kits under the World Bank program. In addition, we will purchase equipment for our laboratory centers,” Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said at a briefing on August 10, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Stepanov also informed that personal protective equipment for health workers - respirators, masks, protective shields, gloves – were purchased with public funds.

As of August 10, Ukraine has reported 81,957 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 1,008 new cases over the past 24 hours.

Over the past day, Ukrainians underwent 13,301 COVID-19 tests, including 10,083 PCR tests and 3,218 ELISA tests.
