The Distant Barking of Dogs, a documentary directed by Simon Lereng Wilmont (Denmark), has been named a Peabody winner, according to the official website of the Peabody Awards.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's Peabody Awards Ceremony -- originally slated to take place in Los Angeles for the first time on June 18 – has been canceled, but a board of 19 jurors selected top 30 programs from 1,300 entries and released their list.

The documentary tells viewers about 10-year-old boy Oleg Afanasyev, who lives on the territory of hostilities close to the front line in Donbas. The film was shot in the village of Hnutove (part of Mariupol), Donetsk region, from 2015 to 2017.
