Ukraine confirms 20,580 COVID-19 cases, including 432 ones in past 24 hours

Ukraine reported 20,580 cases of the coronavirus COVID-19 as of May 23, according to Health Minister Maksym Stepanov.

"Over the past day, 432 persons fell ill, including 60 children and 93 healthcare workers. Some 107 people were hospitalized. In addition, 17 deaths and 344 recoveries were recorded. During the entire period of the pandemic, 20,580 people have fallen ill,” Stepanov said at a briefing on May 23, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

According to him, in total, 6,929 people in Ukraine have recovered and 605 people have died since the start of the pandemic.

Ukraine conducted 10,248 PCR tests in the past 24 hours.

The largest number of coronavirus cases over the past day was reported in Chernivtsi region (59), Lviv region (45), Rivne region (45) and Kyiv city (47).
