Ukraine already conducted more than 200,000 PCR tests - Liashko

"We have already conducted 227,000 PCR tests In Ukraine during this period. Most tests were performed in the laboratories of Kyiv – 35,000, Vinnytsia region – 14,000, Chernivtsi region – 13,000, Dnipropetrovsk region – 12,000, and Odesa region – 12,000,” Liashko said at a briefing on May 18, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

He noted that the highest number of confirmed coronavirus cases have been reported among people aged above 60 years.  In total, 4,370 people above 60 years have fallen ill since the start of the pandemic, which is 24% of all patients. According to him, the death toll in this age group stands at 66%.

As Ukrinform reported, Ukraine confirmed 18,616 cases of the coronavirus COVID-19 as of May 18, including 325 new infections in the previous day.
