Arms cache found in Donbas - SBU

Law enforcers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) have found dozens of mines, large-caliber shells, grenades and other weapons and ammunition near the village of Olhynka, Donetsk region, in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area, the SBU's press service has reported.

"The SBU found an arms cache in the JFO area. It was arranged on the territory of the former children's camp near the village of Olhynka," the report reads.

Law enforcement officers seized 12 anti-personnel and anti-tank mines, 11 large-caliber shells, 28 82mm mines, 33 RPG grenade launchers, and 38 RGD-5 and F-1 grenades. Two Kalashnikov assault rifles, a sniper rifle, more than 400 shells for hand-held anti-tank and grenade launchers, and over 14,000 rounds of different caliber were also found.

According to the latest information, the arms were hidden by four locals who planned to take them out of the JFO area, the SBU said.
