Mayor Klitschko: 111 healthcare workers in Kyiv test positive for coronavirus

Nearly 10% of people with the coronavirus disease in Kyiv city are healthcare workers, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

“Almost 10% of those ill [with COVID-19] in Kyiv are healthcare workers: doctors, nurses, junior medical staff. So 111 healthcare workers have contracted coronavirus, 16 of whom are being treated in hospitals," Klitschko said at a briefing on April 24, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

In total, 217 patients with COVID-19 are being treated in hospitals in the capital's medical centers. Some 39 adults are in critical condition. Two of them are on ventilators. There are 57 patients with suspected COVID-19.

As reported, as of Friday morning, Ukraine confirmed 7,647 coronavirus COVID-19 cases, including 193 deaths. Some 601 people have recovered.
