The Ukrainian pharmaceutical company "Darnitsa" passed the state registration for an experimental drug included in the treatment protocol for COVID-19.

"Good news from the Ukrainian pharmaceutical industry. As you know, many world countries have banned the export of medicines that have shown efficacy in the fight against coronavirus infection, and first and foremost, meet the domestic demand. Now we have a decision: ‘Darnitsa’ pharmaceutical company passed the state registration for hydroxychloroquine substance – an experimental drug that is included in the treatment protocol for COVID-19," MP from the Servant of the People faction, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Health of the Nation, Medical Assistance and Health Insurance Mykhailo Radutsky posted on Facebook.

He thanked the Health Ministry of Ukraine and the State Enterprise “State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine,” who worked in a coordinated and prompt manner to enable Ukrainian pharmaceutical manufacturers to quickly put the necessary medicines on the market."

This is a very positive signal from the Ukrainian pharmaceutical market, Radutsky noted.

"We can provide Ukrainians with high-quality and effective drugs on our own as we have nearly 150 Ukrainian pharmaceutical companies. Moreover, we can produce high-quality products for export and boost the country's GDP. But this will be done later and now the fight against COVID-19 continues and every effort is made in this area," the MP added.

As of morning, April 15, Ukraine confirmed 3,764 COVID-19 cases, including 108 deaths and 143 recoveries; 392 new coronavirus cases were reported over the past day.
