Russian journalist denied entry to Ukraine for three years
"For violation of the laws of Ukraine, border guards forbade the Russian from entering the territory of our country for a period of three years and sent him on a return flight to Minsk," the report reads.
The ministry said the Russian, who was on a private trip to Ukraine and flew on a return flight from Boryspil International Airport, had recently come in view of border guards. Employees of the State Border Guard Service invited the Russian for additional communication, because it emerged at the moment of his departure from Ukraine that he had violated Ukrainian legislation by illegally crossing the border at a closed checkpoint of the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
During the conversation, the man strongly denied his stay in Crimea and began to get confused in his answers to the questions of law enforcement officers. And only when irrefutable evidence was presented, the Russian "remembered" exactly how he got to Ukraine in 2018, the press service said.
The ministry did not name the journalist and the media outlet he represents.
