On March 3, 2020, three temperature records were set in the city of Kyiv, the Central Geophysical Observatory named after Borys Sreznevskyi reported.

"On March 3, air temperature in Kyiv in the afternoon rose to +14.8 °C. Thus, the previous record for that day in 1997 was exceeded by 1.5°C,” reads the report.

Due to such maximum air temperature, an average temperature of 8.3°C on March 3, 2020 turned out to be warmer by 0.4 °C than the previous air temperature maximum recorded for that day in 1997, meteorologists said.

In addition, high temperature background led to the warmest night in past 140 years. The morning temperature did not drop below + 4.8 °C, exceeding the previous record set in 1995 by 1.2 °C.

As earlier reported, for the first time in past 140 years, there was no meteorological winter in Kyiv city for the whole calendar winter 2019/2020.
