This is evidenced by the results of the survey "Public Opinion on the Situation in Donbas and Ways to Restore Ukraine's Sovereignty over Occupied Territories (February 2020)" conducted by the Razumkov Center Sociological Service.
"Assessing the situation in Donbas, 44% of respondents believe that the war between Ukraine and Russia is ongoing in eastern Ukraine; another 19% say that there is a separatist rebellion backed by Russia; 14% believe there is a civil war in the east of Ukraine – a conflict between pro-Ukrainian and pro-Russian citizens of Ukraine; 10% - the war between Russia and the US, while 6% of respondents consider that the struggle for independence of Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics is ongoing in eastern Ukraine," the statement reads.
The survey was conducted by the Razumkov Center Sociological Service from February 13 to February 17, 2020. A total of 2,018 respondents, aged 18 and older, were interviewed in all regions of Ukraine, except for Crimea and the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
