Clashes broke out between protesters and law enforcement officers in the government quarter in Kyiv on Tuesday, December 17.

The main confrontation occurred near Hotel Kyiv, where several hundred law enforcement officers and demonstrators gathered, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

Among the protesters who engage in clashes with police officers are mainly representatives of NGO Natsionalni Druzhyny (National Militia Units) and the National Corps. These are mostly young guys, many of them wearing the same camouflage jackets with the inscriptions "Natsionalni Druzhyny."

During the confrontation, protesters repeatedly threw wooden objects, stones, and bottles at police officers. They also sprayed tear gas and splashed several law enforcers with brilliant green. The glass door at Hotel Kyiv was broken.

Several large-scale rallies are being held near the Verkhovna Rada on December 17.
