Denisova meets with Israeli ombudsman

Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova held a meeting with State Comptroller and Ombudsman of the State of Israel Matanyahu Englman in Jerusalem.
"During the meeting, we exchanged practical experience in the framework of the mandates and functioning of our institutions. In particular, I informed Mr. Matanyahu Englman that the Office of the Ombudsman of Ukraine had recently confirmed A status, the highest status of full compliance with the UN Paris Principles," she wrote on Telegram.
Denisova also informed about the implementation of the National Preventive Mechanism in Ukraine, as well as the procedure for dealing with complaints of persons held in places of detention.
For his part, the ombudsman of Israel said that their institution also handled complaints of citizens of Ukraine, which are held in prisons in Israel, submitted individually.
