The parliament of the Valencia Community of Spain on December 4 considered the issue of the recognition of the Holodomor in Ukraine in 1932-1933.

Valencian MPs unanimously approved a resolution "On raising the awareness of and condemning the great crimes of the twentieth century, such as the Holodomor of 1932-1933," according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

Representatives of all factions in their speeches agreed with the assessment of the Holodomor as genocide.

Ukraine's Consul General Oksana Dramaretska also attended a meeting of the legislative body. Also present were representatives of the Ukrainian community, who were met by Valencian Parliament Speaker Enric Morera.

The motivational part of the resolution states "the most vigorous condemnation of inhuman and genocidal acts carried out by Stalin's totalitarian regime."

The operative part of the document calls on the executive authorities to promote "the knowledge and condemnation of the Holodomor - along with the great crimes of the twentieth century, dictatorships, forms of repression and destruction of human lives so that the memory of these events could serve as a reminder for present and future generations of Valencians."
