Up to 20,000 Hasidic pilgrims are expected to arrive in Ukraine on September 25, the press office of the State Border Guard Service has told Ukrinform.

"Tomorrow Ukraine expects up to 20,000 pilgrims. In particular, up to 17,000 pilgrims are expected to arrive at Boryspil Airport tomorrow. Their registration will take place at Terminal B. This terminal will be opened specifically for the registration of these flights. Up to 3,000 pilgrims are expected to arrive at airports in Odesa and Vinnytsia tomorrow," the press office said.

The agency recalled that about 30,000 Hasidic pilgrims visited Ukraine last year. This year, Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) falls on the evening of September 29. The holiday will last for two days until the evening of October 1. Ukrainian border guards have currently registered about 250 pilgrims. The largest groups of Hasidic pilgrims are to come on September 25, 26 and 27.
