The average monthly air temperature in the city of Kyiv in August was 2°C above the climate norm, the 13th of August became the hottest day of the 2019 summer, according to the Central Geophysical Observatory named after Borys Sreznevskyi.

"According to the observations of the Central Geophysical Observatory named after Borys Sreznevskyi, the average monthly air temperature in Kyiv in August was + 20.7 °C, which is 2.0 °C higher than the climatic norm," the report says.

According to scientists, the 6th of August was the coldest day in Kyiv, when the minimum temperature in the morning dropped to + 12,0 °C, while the hottest day was observed on the 13th of August, when the maximum temperature in the afternoon rose to + 35.0 °C and turned out to be the highest this summer.

The Central Geophysical Observatory also added that there were five days when heat exceeded 30 °C.
