Cairo International Airport becomes 50th airport that changes 'Kiev' to 'Kyiv'

Cairo International Airport, the second largest and busiest airport in Africa, has started using the correct name for the Ukrainian capital in Latin – "Kyiv" instead of "Kiev."

The Embassy of Ukraine in Egypt has posted a relevant report on its Facebook page.

“Africa’s second busiest airport, Cairo International Airport, has started using Kyiv instead of Kiev! Cairo International Airport joins (the campaign) СorrectUA and becomes the 50th international airport that supports the initiative of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry,” reads the report.

As Ukrinform reported, on October 2, 2018, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, together with the StratCom Ukraine Center for Strategic Communications, launched an online campaign #CorrectUA during which it will ask foreign media outlets to spell the Ukrainian capital correctly (#KyivNotKiev).
