Colombia interested in joint cybersecurity projects with Ukraine

Representatives of Ukrinmash, part of the Ukroboronprom State Concern, and the leadership of an official delegation of the Ministry of National Defense of Colombia have discussed cooperation on the development of cybersecurity systems and the fight against cyberattacks, Ukroboronprom's press service has reported.

"As part of the 7th International Exhibition and Conference of Technology for the Defense and Prevention of Disasters SITDEF 2019 that was held in Lima (the Republic of Peru), representatives of Ukrinmash, part of Ukroboronprom, met with the leadership of the official delegation of the Ministry of Defense of Colombia," the report reads.

According to the report, Director of Technology, Science and Innovation at the Ministry of National Defense of Colombia Hilda Lopez Gomez and Ukraine's Honorary Consul in Columbia Luis Brand expressed their interest in the study and application of Ukrainian experience in developing cybersecurity systems and countering cyberattacks.

The sides also discussed joint projects on the creation of bilateral educational programs for cybersecurity research, the development of systems for protecting and retrieving information, and the exchange of specialists.

The parties also discussed the possibility of carrying out scientific research in the field of cybersecurity as part of innovative projects of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute."
