Government approves signing of agreement on joint film production with Canada

"Both the Ukrainian and Canadian film industries are waiting for this event as it opens an extraordinary window of opportunity for the distribution of Ukrainian films in Canada, bright joint projects, investments, new joint victories on the world film arena," said Ukrainian Culture Minister Yevhen Nyshchuk, the press service of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine reports.

The signing of this document will allow to expand the possibilities of promotion of Ukrainian creative industries, in particular, the audiovisual works through constant exchange and intercultural dialogue between the countries, participation of Ukrainian producers of audiovisual works in international film projects, as well as popularization of Ukrainian art abroad.

Application of the agreement’s provisions will provide background for the creation of joint Ukrainian-Canadian audiovisual works, promote bilateral cooperation in the film industry between Ukraine and Canada.
