The Education and Science Ministry and Kyivstar, Ukraine’s largest telecommunication operator, have signed a memorandum of cooperation to support innovation projects in the country, according to the ministry’s press service.

"We understand that the synergy between different parties is needed in order to build an effective innovation ecosystem, when every inventor could have many opportunities to turn his or her creative ideas into innovative products and services. First of all, this should be the joint actions of representatives of government, public and business,” said Education and Science Minister Lilia Hrynevych.

In particular, according to the minister, the Ukrainian Festival of Innovations is one of the major joint projects, which this year the ministry will conduct for the fourth time. As part of the festival, the competition of Ukrainian start-ups is underway. Kyivstar will carry out expert examination of projects and award UAH 90,000 in prize money to the winners.
