First direct flight Kyiv – Sanya to be launched late May

This was announced by representatives of the Bureau of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Sanya City and the tourist operator Kompas, the Centre for Transport Strategies reports.

 “Never before has Hainan been so close to a Ukrainian tourist. Until now, Ukrainians travelled to the island with refuelling flights to Almaty. The preparations for launching direct flights lasted more than a year. To date, all the agreements have been reached and package tours with direct flights operated by the Ukraine International Airlines have appeared in the market. Flights will be operated on a Boeing 767 (254 seats). The travel time is expected to be about 11 hours. During the flight, passengers will be offered two hot meals," commented Olena Stankevych, the Marketing Director of Kompas Ukraine.

The flights will be performed once a week on Tuesdays. In October, the tourist operator plans to increase the frequency of flights up to two times a week.
