Sixty convicts have been transferred from the occupied areas of Luhansk region to the government-controlled Ukraine.
"Today, 60 convicts, who were held in the penitentiary institutions in certain areas of the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region, were transferred to the town of Shchastia to continue to serve the sentence on the territory under the control of the Government of Ukraine. In February, 33 convicts were transferred, and in December of last year - 42,” Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova posted on Facebook.
Denisova stressed that over the past three months, the Ukrainian side had managed to transfer 135 prisoners from the occupied territories of Luhansk region, including 22 people, who have been already released due to the expiration of sentence.
