Diaspora welcomes renewal of Canada’s military training mission in Ukraine

The extension of the mandate of Canada’s military training mission in Ukraine, Operation UNIFIER, demonstrates Canada’s commitment to assisting Ukraine defends its territorial integrity.

“The renewal of Operation UNIFIER demonstrates Canada’s unequivocal commitment assisting Ukraine defends its sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence in the face of continued Russian aggression in Crimea, Eastern Ukraine and in the Kerch Strait,” UCC National President Alexandra Chyczij said. 

She stressed that Canada and other states must continue to put pressure on Russia, demanding an end to military aggression.“Canada and our international allies must continue to take coordinated multilateral actions to show Putin’s regime that their military actions and human rights abuses have consequences,” Chyczij stressed.

As reported, Canada on March 18 decided to extend Operation UNIFIER to train Ukrainian service members until the end of March 2022.
