Ukrainians in Australia represent Ukraine at Pako Festa 2019

Ukrainians in Australia represent Ukraine at Pako Festa 2019, the multicultural festival in Geelong (the state of Victoria, Australia), the Embassy of Ukraine in Australia has reported.

"Ukrainians in Australia, City of Geelong, celebrate another successful multicultural Pako Festa 2019. A wonderful performance full of vibrant Ukrainian spirit, stunning dancing and outstanding Ukrainian pride. Thank you to our supportive Ukrainian community and Lehenda Ukrainian Dance Company," the embassy wrote on Facebook.

Pako Festa is the largest free celebration of cultural diversity in Australia.

It dates back to 1983, when the Ethnic Communities Council Inc. got together with Geelong West Traders and Geelong West City Council with an ambitious idea for a community-driven party that celebrated the region’s diverse cultural communities.

These days the festival is organised by Diversitat and has grown into Victoria’s largest free multi-arts and cultural party. Pako is about community and is led by community. The event celebrates and highlights the extraordinary contribution of individuals, cultural groups and multicultural communities in Geelong and across Australia.
