Poroshenko, Volker to take part in forum on 5th anniversary of Crimea’s occupation

First Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova said this at the press conference "Presentation of the 5th International Forum "Occupied Crimea: Five Years of Resistance" held at Ukrinform today.

“The official opening of the forum will take place in the evening of February 26 … with the participation of Ukraine’s president and U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker, who will be the key speakers,” Dzhaparova said.

The 5th International Forum “Occupied Crimea: Five Years of Resistance” will take place at Mystetskyi Arsenal in Kyiv on February 26-27. It will discuss national and international instruments of the fight for Crimea’s return and the human rights discourse, designed to draw attention to human rights violations in the occupied peninsula.

The event will be attended by representatives of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Presidential Administration of Ukraine, the Council of National Security and Defence of Ukraine and the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people; members of diplomatic missions; leading international experts; human rights activists; members of NGOs; and other people and organisations concerned.

She noted that such events and communication campaigns were the implementation of the Strategy for Information Reintegration of Crimea, developed by the Information Policy Ministry and approved by the Government.
