Epiphanius, Poroshenko bring tomos to Manyava Skete monastery

Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine Epiphanius and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko have attended a joint prayer at the Cathedral Temple of the Manyava Skete monastery, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"Manyava Skete is our spiritual stronghold here in the Carpathian region. Therefore, we will pray and thank God for all the blessings," Poroshenko said, when asked why the joint prayer takes place here.
Following the prayer, the head of state awarded Epiphanius the Order of Merit of the Second Class.
The tomos of autocephaly of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will stay in the monastery until the end of the day.
Manyava Skete, also known as Ukrainian Athos, is an Orthodox solitary cell men's monastery (skete) in the Carpathian mountains of western Ukraine. It was founded by Job of Maniava (born Ivan Knyahynytskyi) in 1606 near the village of Manyava, Bohorodchany district, Ivano-Frankivsk region.
