Kyiv breaks 139-year-old temperature record

On Sunday, the temperature in Kyiv broke a 139-year-old temperature record.

"According to the observations of the meteorological station at the Borys Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory, the record of an average daily air temperature was broken in the capital [of Ukraine] on February 17. For the first time in 139 years, the temperature was + 4.6°С, up 0.1°С compared with the previous temperature record on this day in 1974," reads the statement on the website of the Borys Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory.

With respect to the climate normal, this temperature corresponds to March 29.
