State Employment Service helped 826,000 Ukrainians to get jobs in 2018

The State Employment Service of Ukraine helped 826,000 citizens to find jobs in 2018, which is 6% more than in the previous year.

Valeriy Yaroshenko, the acting head of the State Employment Service (Central Office) stated this at a press conference at Ukrinform.

"As of January 28, 340,000 Ukrainians were registered with the State Employment Service. This is 45,000 less compared to the same period last year. In general, in 2018, nearly 2 million citizens applied to employment centers throughout Ukraine. And 826,00 of them found jobs," Yaroshenko said.

He stressed that 51% of them were employed promptly - before granting the status of registered unemployed.

In addition, the service managed to increase the number of vacancies in its database by 10% (to 1.1 million). Also, the number of employers who last year cooperated with employment centers grew to 200,000 (by 10%).
