Health Ministry intends to enlarge Affordable Medicines program in 2020

Acting Health Minister Ulana Suprun said this at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"In 2020, we plan to enlarge the Affordable Medicines program so that more nosologies and more diseases be included in the program. We have developed an agency that will monitor diseases in Ukraine and give us advice which medicines we should add to the reimbursement program," Suprun said.

According to her, due to the Affordable Medicines program, prices of medicines in Ukraine have decreased significantly.

"The program includes 239 [types of] medicines. The price of medicines fell by 30% on average, while of some types of medicines by 60-70%," said Suprun.
