President to attend liturgy and bring tomos to Lutsk

Tomorrow, January 15, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko will take part in a liturgy at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Lutsk.

During the divine service, the tomos of autocephaly will be exposed to the public, the press center of the Volyn eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church reported.

"On January 15 at 11.30, a prayer service for Ukraine will be held at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity with the participation of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. During the liturgy, the Patriarchal and Synodal Tomos of Autocephaly of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will be presented to the public," the statement reads.

Metropolitan of Lutsk and Volyn Mikhail called upon everyone to join the liturgy and to jointly thank God for all the blessings.

As reported, on January 5, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew signed the tomos of autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

On January 6, 2019, the ceremony to hand over a tomos of autocephaly to the united Orthodox Church of Ukraine took place at the Patriarchal Church of St. George in Istanbul. Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew gave the document to Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Epiphaniy.
