Poland issued almost 900,000 visas to Ukrainians last year

In 2018, the Polish consular offices in Ukraine issued a total of 876,064 visas (97.2% of national visas and 2.8% of Schengen visas) to Ukrainians.

Most Polish visas last year were issued by the Polish consulate in Lviv - almost 278,000 (31.7% of total number), an Ukrinform correspondent learnt from the Polish Foreign Ministry.

In addition, about 179,000 visas (more than 20%) were issued in Lutsk, more than 145,000 visas - in Kharkiv (16.6%), almost 130,000 - in Vinnytsia (14.8%). The smallest number of visas was issued by the Polish consular offices in Kyiv - more than 87,000 (almost 10%) and in Odessa - more than 57,000 (over 6.5%).

The percentage of visa denials was 3.4% (about 31,000) of the total number of submitted visa applications.

Compared to 2017, the number of visas issued at the Polish consular offices last year decreased by about 240,000. In particular, it is caused by the introduction of a visa-free regime for short travels of Ukrainians to most EU countries, including Poland, on June 11, 2017.
